DAWAT issues a national request
The Dawat organization has committed itself to preserving the historical and cultural heritage of the Afghan nation. A process has been developed to document and archive national, cultural and historical information about Afghanistan and its people. Such information will eventually become a part of a national archive. In doing so, it is our hope that our future generations will have the opportunity to easily access accurate information regarding their nation and its heritage.
Recent efforts by Dawat have resulted in the collection of historical and cultural materials such as films, books and other forms of literature. We are now calling upon all of our respected countrymen to assist us in this effort to preserve our national identity. Your contribution may be in the forms of documentary films, videos, cds, vcds, dvds, books, magazines, newspapers, paintings or any other form of media available. Items submitted may be originals or copies and in any language desired. Any and all items will not only be stored as part of a national archive, but will also become accessible to the general public.
It is said that rivers are created by many small droplets of water, as such the small efforts of each individual will eventually contribute to a product we can each express pride in.
Once again we call upon individuals within all nations to fulfill their duty as Afghans and contribute to the preservation of their historical, cultural and national identity. It is time for us to act, as actions speak louder than words.
